As for other games, there are over 500 different deals in the store across both PS5 and PS4.

The common theme between the popular titles includes survival horror and storytelling based around that backdrop. Surprisingly, the recent title, Diablo IV has made its way to the list.

The recent entry to the Diablo series has players coming back to the eerie world of Sanctuary. Forces of heaven and hell are at work, asking humans to do their bidding. The infamous and dreadful Lilith has entered this universe, and players are now tasked with defeating her.

In light (or, the lack thereof) of familiar horror, Resident Evil 4 brings players back to the recognisable world of Resident Evil, where special agent Leon S. Kennedy must brave a dangerous world in order to save the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham. The gameplay revolves around battling hordes of infected enemies and reuniting players Ada Wong, a spy who happens to be mixed up in this narrative too.

Even though both these games including in the PlayStation Store sale are different in their playstyles and made by different studios, the background of ‘evil’ and a sense of malice that roams about these worlds is well worth the investment. Anyone who’s a fan of spooky and nightmare-ish storytelling will appreciate these games.

PlayStation Store Discounted Games with Great Storytelling

Little Nightmares 2
The PlayStation Store sale includes Little Nightmares 2 is perfect for those looking for a horror-based platformer.

The world of survival-horror games is often crowded with trigger-happy protagonists and enemies that are either bullet sponges or die at the simplest sleight of hand. But, once in a while, a game arrives that captures the player’s interest and takes their out-of-body experiences to newer heights. Fortunately, some of the games that are part of the PlayStation Store sale include great narrative-driven games.

The Dark Pictures Anthology Season One is a journey along these lines. The series takes story-driven storytelling to the next level with tasteful cinematics. The creative minds behind this one also made Until Dawn and The Quarry. The first season includes the first four entries titles:

  • Man of Medan
  • Little Hope
  • House of Ashes
  • The Devil In Me

Little Nightmares 2 is another offbeat game about a young boy (Mono) who is trapped in a dark, monstrous world. At first glance, the game’s art style alone makes it an attractive choice for players wanting to delve into a world full of mysteries. Most of the gameplay revolves around solving puzzles and platforming through challenging level design and makes for an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for something other than repetitive combat.

Finally, another game to invest in during the PlayStation Store sale is The Walking Dead The Telltale Definitive Series. This collection includes all four seasons of the classic game and has the two spin-offs – 400 Days and The Walking Dead: Michonne. If there’s one thing Telltale is a master of, it’s narrative-driven games that are non-linear. With multiple dialogue options and situations that will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s a great collection to buy during this sale.
