Not just fans but even Marvel Studios was somewhat aware of the fact that it would be difficult to come up with another project that could top Avengers: Endgame. But people still hoped and waited for Brie Larson’s The Marvels. But now, there appears a strong chance for the movie to have one of the lowest opening weekends in the history of the MCU.
Initial predictions claimed Brie Larson’s The Marvels between $75M and $80M domestically. But unfortunately, the numbers seem to have drastically shrunk down. Witnessing such a drop to the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s Captain Marvel, Larson’s fans are now begging people to give it a shot despite all odds.
The Marvels Seems To Be Heading For a Box Office Disaster
Ever since the release of Avengers: Endgame, MCU fans rarely had another film that could match the expectations created by the 2019 movie. But as Marvel Studios announced their work on creating a sequel to Brie Larson‘s 2019 movie Captain Marvel, fans got excited and raised their hopes high.
With its release date approaching fast, box office predictions initially claimed that the movie might open between $75M and $80M domestically. But unfortunately, with each passing day, the numbers gradually began shrinking. And now, according to CNBC, those figures range between $50M and $60M domestically.
The only MCU movies that witnessed such low openings were 2015’s Ant-Man and 2008’s Incredible Hulk. Even Marvel’s Black Widow and Eternals had a high worldwide opening weekend. But now with Brie Larson’s The Marvels’ box office predictions, it seems the movie will have an opening weekend lower than Black Widow ($148M) and Eternals ($160M).

It was fun, and you should definitely watch it for yourself before judging it. It’s not the greatest, but it’s definitely not as bad as people are making it out to be. It’s fun and funny, and these characters are all enjoyable but… https://t.co/Rx6GvouFnJ pic.twitter.com/6aginPjc8l
