About two months ago, it was reported that Keanu Reeves would be starring in The Devil in the White City alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. The Hulu original first went into production in 2019 and Reeves was recently cast as Burnham in the project. The Devil in the White City is a Hulu adaptation of Eric Larson’s book of the same name. It was put into development in 2019 with plans to release it in August 2022, after Leonardo DiCaprio acquired the rights for the book in 2010 and Martin Scorsese joined the project as the director in 2015.
The Devil in the White City reportedly tells the true story of Daniel H. Burnham, who wishes to leave a mark on history with the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. It also follows America’s first modern serial killer, Dr. H. H. Holmes. The production house has yet not announced a release date, but it is expected to release in the spring of 2023.
