She points out that people who ask this question may only be familiar with her roles in Bond and Gone Girl, even though she has played a variety of characters in other films like Pride and Prejudice, An Education, Hostiles, Barney’s Version, and A Private War. The Hollywood star went on to say:

“I’m Rosamund Pike. Please stop asking me if it’s relief to get away from icy characters. Have you seen Pride and Prejudice? Have you seen An Education? Have you seen Hostiles? Have you seen Barney’s version? Have you seen A Private War? And you realize when people ask you that you know, they say you made your name playing icy characters. They’ve probably only seen seen Bond and Gone Girl.”

This frustration comes from the fact that, despite her versatility, some people still only see her in certain types of roles. When actors get typecast, it makes it different for them to break out of these narrow perceptions and be appreciated for their talent.

The actress was amazing as Amy Dunne in Gone Girl. Now, in Saltburn, she’s nailed it again as Lady Elspeth Catton who became just as iconic.
