How Does Nanami meet his demise in Jujutsu Kaisen?

A still of Nanami from the early episodes in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1

In the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga, Nanami meets his demise at the hands of his archnemesis, Mahito. After being scorched alive by Jogo, he wanders in Shibuya and comes across several transfigured humans. Despite being at the doorstep of death, he fights them. However, he comes across Mahito and realizes his time is up.

We get a flashback scene where the character reminisces about his old friend Yu Haibara. Yu gestures towards Yuji, who is already at the scene and is devastated upon observing his beloved mentor getting blown up to pieces. Nanami leaves behind his final words, “You’ve got it from here.”

The protagonist already had beef with Mahito about Junpei’s fate. Nanami’s death just acted as a catalyst as it pushed him off the edge. Yuji rages beyond comprehension and rushes to attack Mahito. As seen from the preview images, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will adapt to Nanami’s death in Episode 18.
