The universe of Chainsaw Man is home to many powerful Devils. If their names inspire enough fear, each of these monsters is capable of wreaking havoc that would end the world. Since the Death Devil personifies what is arguably the greatest fear that humans have, it follows that it ought to be among the most powerful Devils.

Though it is implied that this enigmatic figure is one of the Four Horsemen, it may play a far bigger part in the narrative. Furthermore, it is claimed that the coming of this Devil marks the beginning of a cataclysmic event that will ultimately result in the extinction of humanity.

However, there is a theory going on around the internet that states that Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil who embodies the fear of chainsaws might be directly connected to the Death Devil who was recently introduced in the series.

The Death Devil in Chainsaw Man

The strongest Devil in the world, the Death Devil represents the greatest fear that anyone can have: death. Of the Four Horsemen, she is the oldest. It is predicted that she will come to Earth in July 1999 as the Ultimate Terror and bring about the apocalypse, which would wipe out humanity and usher in an Age of Devils.

Though the prophecy cannot be altered, steps can be taken to alter its interpretation and preserve humanity. It is reasonable to assume that the Death Devil possesses all of the typical Devil powers, such as regeneration and Contract formation. The Death Devil is a female, just like her siblings, though it is unknown how she looks.

This and many other instances revealed in the series have led to a theory that states that Pochita may be directly connected to the Death Devil.

Pochita May Be Directly Connected to Death Devil

A theory has been circulating on the internet suggesting that Pochita is either a friend or contractee of the Death Devil, or that she consumed a portion of the Devil to acquire its power. Pochita’s ability to permanently eliminate devils and the ideas they represent is explained by this.

Perhaps this will also help explain why pochita seems to have no end and literally cannot die. Chainsaw Man’s superhuman strength could potentially also be explained by the theory. One other thing it makes clear is that almost everyone who comes close to Denji’s is destined to die.

Another widely held belief that gained traction suggested that Pochita might be the death devil, but this theory was deemed illogical. The story has far more plausibility if Pochita is associated with the death devil.
