Pokemon GO has always had microtransactions and that has never brought down the game’s popularity or the number of players either. Players have been spending on in-app purchases for items and in-game currency ever since the free-to-play game by Nintendo was launched.

However, Pokemon GO players have never been happy about paying for limited-time events, and the recent price tag of $7.99 has been cited as being far too expensive. Fans took to Pokemon’s Reddit Forum to express their disappointment.

With several limited editions of shiny Pokemons on offer for lucky players, one of the fans commented how it would have made some sense if they were made available for even $5. Another fan commented how gamers are exceedingly straying away from purchasing raid passes in the game, and that is one of the reasons for the event tickets being sold at a hefty premium.

Some of those who picked up a Zarude for free three years back had also commented stating they would happily trade it for free if it was possible with those looking to get one. Being a mythical creature, however, it’s not possible to trade it at the moment.
