It’s been eight years since the release of the game, and in that time, it has seen plenty of updates and new features introduced. However, recently, Niantic has been under fire for bringing controversial changes to the game. While players are frustrated and continue to uninstall, they can’t resist the urge to jump back as it’s still a “great” game.

As pointed out by one Reddit user, Pokemon Go‘s social elements have encouraged exploration and interaction with others around them. Niantic has crafted a game that’s quite simple and easily accessible for anyone to pick up and play, crafting a sense of adventure and community that pushes people to go out instead of rotting in their homes.

While Pokemon Go has certainly made a lot of players’ lives better, it’s still a double-edged sword, as the game can make you spend way too much! The game’s paid tickets, remote passes, and other things can elevate your experience, but they can get a bit too expensive, and you might start overspending.

Despite the franchise promoting player versus player battles, the game still lacks a PvP system that doesn’t feel frustrating to get into. Ever since its introduction, players have been bitter about the fact that it feels dull and tedious and is simply rock-paper-scissors without having much to experiment around.

There’s no doubt that Pokemon Go is an incredible game that brings trainers around the globe together. However, it still needs a lot of work and improvement before the interest starts to wane. It still has a lot of potential, and it would be a shame to see it all fall apart for nothing.

Pokemon Go Desperately Needs Major Updates

It’s not only the game’s broken PvP system or over-the-top monetization problems; Pokemon Go needs a major overhaul since the title isn’t doing that well. Sure, it’s great to see some players sharing their stories and adventures, but the game’s active player base has dropped off a cliff.

Over the years, we’ve seen trainers across social media platforms raising their concerns and practically begging developers to introduce some of the most basic features of the game.

However, for some reason, Niantic continues to ignore its player base and focus on bringing unnecessary features to the game that one had asked for in the first place. We all remember how routes and shadow raids turned out to be.

The studio has constantly assured the community that the game is here to stay for years, but their lack of actions doesn’t give us any confidence. If the developer doesn’t get things right with the upcoming rumored introduction of Dynamax and Gigantamax features, the future isn’t looking too bright.
