The current Pokemon Go Season is Shared Skies, which has brought new events, Mega Lucario’s debut, and much more. But just like other seasons, the game has yet to escape problems that are hampering the players’ experience.
Niantic is constantly working to keep the Pokemon Go experience fresh, but this often results in new bugs and glitches. Unfortunately, players have encountered another major bug with the recent update that is outright causing them to delete the game and move on.
Pokemon Go Empty Map Glitch Strikes Back With The Latest Update
While new updates and patches are often eagerly awaited for by gamers, things have been drastically different for Pokemon Go players for several years. The last few major updates have proven to be quite controversial, to say the least, with several players hoping Niantic doesn’t bring any more changes.
What’s worse is the fact with every new update, there seems to be some kind of new bug introduced in the game that doesn’t get fixed. The latest Pokemon Go bug discovered by the Reddit community strips everything from the map and displays only green scenery.
New update, new bug.

Based on the replies in the comments of the post, this bug is significantly disturbing the gameplay of many trainers at this point and is linked to avatar outfits.
Currently, there’s no fix for the problem, and Niantic still hasn’t recognized the issue. Even after refreshing data, uninstalling, and changing outfits, players still can’t get past the issue and play the game.
It’s mind-boggling that a company like Niantic, with all its resources and talent, can’t bring a single Pokemon Go update that’s not infested with game-breaking bugs and glitches. Let’s hope the studio finally addresses the player’s concerns and brings a fix before it gets too late.
Pokemon Go Needs a Major Update to Revive The Game
It’s been eight years since the release of Pokemon Go, and the game still tops the mobile charts. However, it’s a known fact that its popularity is nowhere near what it was back in the day, and the blame for that primarily comes down to Niantic’s strange choices.
Over the last few years, we’ve witnessed trainers across various social platforms raising their concerns over the game’s glitchy state and lack of basic features that are essential for gameplay at this point.
Despite the dropping revenue and player count, Niantic continues to ignore all the feedback and focus on bringing completely horrendous updates that add nothing to the game but take it two steps backward with a new bug or glitch.
Even though the studio constantly reassures the community that the monster-catching title is here to stay for decades, its lack of actions speaks otherwise. It’s really high time for the studio to put together a major Pokemon Go update that brings crucial changes to the core gameplay and resolves all the major issues in the game.
If the developer doesn’t bring the necessary overhaul, it won’t be long before the interest in the game starts to wane, and people simply give up. We’ve seen that happening with many games, and it would be a shame if Pokemon Go had to suffer the same fate.
With that said, have you found any other bugs with the latest Pokemon Go patch? If so, let us know in the comments.
