It’s hard to say goodbye to the characters who have been with us since childhood. The Pokémon series has always been known because for its two main characters, Pikachu and Ash Ketchum. But as the series moves forward, the makers have decided to give a chance to other characters to lead a new series – Pokémon Horizons.

The longtime companions have been part of this universe since 1997, which means almost two decades. Last year, The Pokémon company announced that soon Ash and Pikachu’s journey will come to an end. The new series named Pokémon Horizons will focus more on the new leading trainers Liko and Roy. It’s also good to see the world of Pokémon bringing to the audience a fresh perspective and some new stories.

He wins the Pokémon World Coronation series in one of the episodes of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series. Many trainers worldwide participate in this championship, but Ketchum comes out with flying colors.

Now, it’s official that after the 11-episode series which debuted on January 13th, 2023, the journey of our beloved duo has ended. The new trailer for the brand new journey of Liko and Roy is out, which gave us a glimpse of where the story will be headed too. Pokémon Horizons: The Series will give the center stage to the new characters as they head to an exciting adventure.

Liko & Roy have become the new trainers in the series. The trailer gives us an idea as to what their goals would be in the series and explores a wide range of characters like never before. The new duo will unlock new adventures, meet new friends, and give us a fun, adventure-filled journey.

The makers have already given a gist of what Pokémon Horizons will be about. According to the synopsis, the protagonist Liko will have her own Pokémon named Sprigatito, alongside her partner Roy. They will come across many new characters, including Rising Volt Tacklers, which is led by Captain Pikachu and Friede.

The synopsis is as follows :

“Traveling across the Pokémon world on an airship, the Rising Volt Tacklers include Orla, who enjoys mechanical and electrical work and is accompanied by her partner Pokémon, Metagross; Murdock, who is skilled at cooking, and his partner Pokémon, Rockruff; Mollie, who specializes in healing treatments, and her partner Pokémon, Chansey; and Ludlow. Liko and Roy will also come across Amethio, who is joined by his partner Pokémon, Ceruledge, and belongs to an organization called the Explorers, as well as a popular video streamer known as Nidothing.”

Pokémon Horizons: The Series will make its debut on April 14th, 2023 in Japan. As of now, the US release date and streaming details are not available. But it’s being speculated that the English dubbed episodes of the series might drop in May.
