Halloween is almost here, and we are already seeing the theme spread across the gaming universe. Nintendo isn’t far behind as their plans for this year include spooky events and games on Nintendo Switch. A bunch of Switch games have Halloween events going live in the coming days that run until Halloween, and players can also win rewards, weapons, and abilities for completing the objectives while taking part in the events.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Luigi’s Mansion 3 feature among games that players can check out over the next seven days to earn rewards this spooky season.
The Best Halloween Events Set to Hit Nintendo Switch this Year
Jack, the Czar of Halloween comes to Animal Crossing: New Horizons once a year during the spooky season of Halloween and is bound to return this year as well. Jack will be seen on the island on the 31st of this month. Players can prepare for his annual arrival by planting a pumpkin patch, buying candy from Nook’s Cranny, and finally crafting some creepy decor to get into the Halloween spirit.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
A strange underground expanse that’s devoid of any light and is shrouded in mystery, is what awaits players of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Players will find chasms scattered around Hyrule which will lead them into murky depths. Players must pack some Brightbloom Seeds which can be found in abundance by exploring caves in Hyrule and the Sky Islands. Each Brightbloom plant will fetch players three glowing seeds which will in turn help when players explore the depths this Halloween.
Dredge
Released earlier this year in March on Nintendo Switch, Dredge is a single-player fishing adventure. Players must captain their fishing trawler and explore remote islands and the deep-sea trenches to discover what lies underneath. The trenches will usually be filled with hidden treasures that players must uncover while also completing quests to gain new abilities. Selling the treasure will help players upgrade their boats to discover even more secluded locations.
Splatfest
Splatfests are special in-game events and in Splatoon 3, players must choose a team and then score points for their teams. Players must pick between Team Zombie, Team Skeleton, or Team Ghost. Each of the teams represents the player’s companion for the supernatural Splatfest. The Halloween-themed Splatfest starts on the 28th of this month and ends on the 30th.
Cult of the Lamb
Cult of the Lamb is completely free to play on Nintendo Switch until the 31st of October and is one of the perfect games to play this Halloween. Players can team up with three others in Vampire Survivors to take down thousands of monsters, collect gems, level up weapons and abilities, and try to survive until dawn while battling swarms of night creatures.
Pokemon Unite & Pokemon Scarlet/Violet
Pokémon UNITE has a Pumpkin-packed Quick Battle mode that’s going on already, until the 12th of November. The game will feature the small and spooky Mimikyu that will continue to haunt players in the Aeos Arena.
Starting 26th of October, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will have a Halloween 5-star Tera Raid Battles where players must fight the magical Pokémon Mismagius with Ghost as its Tera-Type. Players must also stay prepared for the gathering of Ghost-type Pokémon in a Mass Outbreak event. The event will run until the 31st of October.
PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo
PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is a supernatural mystery adventure, set in Tokyo. Players must answer quizzes based on what they learn as they progress through the game, as their choices will have consequences on other characters. The game will revert to an earlier scene until players deduce an alternate story path.
Pikmin 4
Pikmin 4 has a Halloween event ongoing which runs until the end of the month. Players should collect Halloween Candy by clearing Event Challenge missions and by destroying Mushrooms. These candies will count towards clearing dedicated missions that will fetch players exclusive Halloween Mii costumes once completed, including other random reward items.
There are a considerable amount of Halloween-inspired in-game events set to take place over the next week or so, but one thing is for certain, they’re all going to be terrifying…
