The long-overdue sequel to Ridley Scott’s historical drama film is still a few months away, but Gladiator 2 is already teasing its upcoming trailer. Starring Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Denzel Washington, the sequel is expected to rake in money and secure box office success.
The announcement of a new trailer was revealed through the film’s social media channels, and fans have expressed excitement for both the teaser video and the movie itself.
Pedro Pascal And Denzel Washington Reunite In Gladiator 2
Gladiator II prides itself on its ensemble cast, with Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, and Denzel Washington leading the franchise together with Connie Nielsen and Joseph Quinn, to name a few.
This is also a reunion for Pascal and Washington who previously collaborated in 2018’s The Equalizer 2. Director Ridley Scott teased Denzel’s character, Macrinus, via Vanity Fair:
Denzel is an arms dealer who supplies food for the armies in Europe, supplies wine and oil, makes steel, makes spears, weapons, cannons, and catapults. So he is a very wealthy man. Instead of having a stable of racehorses, he has a stable of gladiators. He’s beautiful. He drives a golden Ferrari. I got him a gold-plated chariot.
Meanwhile, Pascal’s character, Marcus Acacius, is said to have trained under Russell Crowe’s Maximus. The actor explains to the same outlet:
This movie has an identity that is shaped by his legacy. It wouldn’t make sense for it not to. He learned from the best, so of course this code of honor is ingrained into his training and into his existence. But at the end of the day, he’s a different person. And that can’t change who he is.
Gladiator II is the much-awaited sequel to Crowe’s 2000 movie. The actor was originally planned to return for the second installment; however, this plot did not work out in the end. It’s also quite complicated to bring him back since his character died at the end of the first film.
Even though he isn’t returning, the ensemble cast has strong star power and following that would hopefully guarantee a successful theatrical run.

This is an important work for Paul Mescal after his big break in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People. The Gladiator is a massive movie franchise, and it has the capability of propelling the actor’s career to new heights.
