The main essence that helped One Piece live-action gain success was the ability to replicate the scenes from the One Piece anime and manga series that would have been pretty difficult to recreate in the real world. Be it the Mihawk vs Zoro fight or the Luffy vs Arlong battle, One Piece fans were happy that the series did justice to these iconic scenes.

Recently, the cast of One Piece live-action attended the Weebcon 2024 where they were asked a bunch of questions about the future of Netflix’s One Piece. While answering one of the questions, Jacob Romero, the actor who portrays Usopp talked about one of the saddest scenes in One Piece history.

According to Romero the fight would be pretty heart-wrenching to have to play out but looking at the importance of the fight in the series, it will be a nice moment that he will share with Iñaki Godoy who plays Luffy in the series. On the other hand, Emily Rudd who plays Nami explained that she would love to get the Clima-Tact, which is a weapon of Nami in the future.

Luffy vs Usopp is One of the Saddest Fights in One Piece History

Luffy faced Usopp during the Water 7 arc, when the Straw Hat crew chose to replace their ship, Going Merry, due to its condition. It was impossible to repair or keep sailing the ship after their Grand Line exploits had completely wrecked it.  Although Luffy wanted to do everything in his power to save it, he understood that it was nearing the end of its days.

When Luffy informed Usopp of their decision, he became enraged, and the events culminated in a battle between the Straw Hats captain and their sniper. Luffy faced considerable difficulty in his battle with Usopp but ultimately emerged victorious. Although the outcome of the battle was already expected, it still was one of the saddest battles in history.

Nevertheless, Luffy likely found this battle difficult since, in addition to Usopp being a formidable opponent, he was facing off against one of his closest friends. However, it only strengthened their bond which has been witnessed by One Piece fans after the Water 7 arc.
