Prime Day marks the multination conglomerate offering the best deals for various categories. For gamers, regardless of their platform, plenty of enticing deals are offered.
Considering Sony is the market leader in video game consoles, some of the best Prime Day deals are offered to PlayStation owners. If one has a Prime Subscription already, these are the top 5 deals that should be checked out.
#5 Elden Ring
Elden Ring is one of the most popular titles from FromSoftware. It was released in 2022 and also managed to scoop various accolades. It is widely regarded as one of the best video games ever. It also marked the epic collaboration between Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin, some of the most reputed names in their respective fields.
The title is also one of the studio’s most approachable and beginner-friendly titles, as it has a lot of mechanics to make things easier. FromSoftware Titles are notorious for not being on sale very often, but now, one can grab the title at $39.99, thanks to Prime Day.
However, they must already have a Prime Subscription to avail of the deal. Moreover, Shadow of the Erdtree, released recently and is shaping up to be one of the best video game expansions, should consider picking up the title.
#4 Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance
The JRPG is a title first released in 2021 for the Switch exclusively. However, a definitive edition of Vengeance came out for all major platforms in June 2024.
Despite being a title released last month at the MSRP of $59.99, it can be scooped for $39.99, a whopping 33% discount. The title follows the story of Ichiro, a schoolboy who encounters the impossible one fine day. There are also two distinct storylines in the game. The one added with the 2024 release is called the ‘Canon of Vengeance,’ a dramatic tale of revenge, and the original is titled ‘Canon of Creation.’
If one is into the charm of JRPGs, an excellent narrative, and turn-based combat or wants to experience a more polished version of the 2021 release and additional content, this is a no-brainer.
#3 The Last of Us Part I
Since it first came out, The Last of Us has revolutionized the industry by offering a narrative that made for one of the best experiences in a video game. However, since it originally came out in 2013, it has received not one but two different remasters, the latest one released natively for the PlayStation 5.
The release for the native PS5 release aligned perfectly with the HBO show, but many fans didn’t want to pay the total price for the game at launch. But right now, the $39.99 price tag due to Prime Day makes the game worth consideration. This is especially true if you liked the show and want to experience the immersive world, the gripping narrative, and the polished gameplay.
#2 Assassin’s Creed Mirage Launch Edition
One of the most highly-rated franchises by Ubisoft is Assassin’s Creed. The franchise has recently taken a more RPG-esque approach, beginning with 2018’s Origins.
This continued to Valhalla, but Mirage was the game that took a much more revivalist approach towards the series and bottled the essence of early games perfectly. The game follows the story of Basim, who appeared in Valhalla and explores his early days as an assassin.
The game has beautiful visuals and a world that might not look as big as Odyssey or Origins, but it goes well with its offering. The game’s launch edition can be snagged at $23.70 for the PlayStation 5.
#1 Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon
It is most undoubtedly an incredible time to be a FromSoftware fan. This is because there are not one but two of the latest games from the studio on sale for the world’s most popular ninth-gen video game console.
Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is incredibly different from Soulsborne titles that Miyazaki-san’s studio is known for. Instead, it takes a different approach and instead focuses on player-controlled mechs. The gameplay is incredibly smooth, but the difficulty level is substantial, like all FromSoftware games, and has a vibrant narrative.
The game is currently available at a discounted price of $39.99 on a Prime Day sale and is worth checking out. Which of these games piqued your interest? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
