Even though many gamers will think that this is a strange game to have a trial with, as it is almost eight years old, the reasoning behind this is due to Henry Cavill, the actor who has been playing Geralt on the wildly popular Witcher TV show on Netflix has been cut from his role and replaced and this trial is to help draw attention to that.

Why is Henry Cavill Leaving the show a big deal, and why will this trial affect anything?

PS Premium Adds The Witcher 3 Four Hour Game Trial To Help Curb That Sadness About Henry Cavill Being Axed From The Show

Over the years, The Witcher games have been slowly gaining a lot of popularity, especially recently after Netflix began creating The Witcher Tv show on its platform; when Netflix announced they would be making this live-action adaptation, a lot of fans were very sceptical at first as many thought it would be rather boring and not keep in touch with it’s sources.

This all changed when Henry Cavill came into the mix as he was announced to be Geralt, as many fans began to have some hope for the series as Henry Cavill himself is a long-time fan of The Witcher series, and he did his best to help keep the show as close to its source material, and it’s safe to say that went down well with fans.

Now that Henry Cavill is being removed from his role as The Witcher, it caused quite an uproar from fans who really enjoyed seeing him in the role, but some fans are also supportive of his replacement. Due to these changes in casting, PlayStation has decided to help gamers move past this change and accept it for what it is they have released this four-hour trial to get new fans into the series and help it to gather a whole new fanbase that will be able to appreciate it this change in the future.

Will this PS Premium trial gain new fans to the series, and will it be worth it?

So far, this trial has already gained a lot of attention as both old and new players have gained some interest, and it has brought a fair few newer fans into the mix as the complete edition of the game is currently on sale on the PlayStation store, whilst it has also brought back a few older fans who have decided to give the game another go and bring back some old memories.

Usually, when a game brings out a trial, they don’t tend to give as much of a trial as this as they only want to entice players with merely an hour or two at a max of gameplay to try and encourage them to try out the game. Still, with this being such a large game with a lot of conversation, combat and exploration in the first part, it felt natural to give it such a large trial so that players are able to get a taste of the world in The Witcher and give them enough reason to buy the entire game.
