PS2 Games Are Finally Coming to PS5 Via PlayStation Plus As Part of Sony’s 2024 Days of Play Event

A new edition of Days of Play has been introduced, a special period of time when the PlayStation Store gets several sales and other promotions. Sony has confirmed the addition of three PlayStation 2 games coming to PS Plus, following rumors of their arrival. 


These titles are Tomb Raider Legend, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. PlayStation 5 users will receive additional benefits from the console’s premium service, which will soon be available for players to enjoy. The rumors were partially true.

Throughout the year, Sony launches a marketing campaign that includes discounts, game sales, and other initiatives that encompass the entire software and hardware brand. One of the things that gets the most attention with these Days of Play strategy is PlayStation Plus, which receives new games, reduced prices, and titles that were never part of the different subscription tiers.


There were rumors about upcoming PS2 games coming to the services, but this information was only partially accurate, with three classic titles coming to Plus. These games are Tomb Raider Legend, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus.

In the Classic catalog of the PS5, these games will be available since June 11. The positive response indicates the need for more frequent additions of IPs from outdated platforms.

Selected retailers will offer a discount on the company’s current generation console, and fans will benefit from a price cut on the service. PS Plus also confirmed the upcoming monthly games for June that will be added. These titles are SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, AEW Fight Forever, and Streets of Rage 4. The games will be available to download since June 4.


This month, the service added EA Sports FC 24, one of the biggest games of the season. Players can take advantage of this by downloading the game until June 18. For Premium and Extra users, Days of Play will be adding the following games: Dredge, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, Cricket 24, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, The Definitive Edition. These games will be added on May 29 and in the upcoming days of June.

This edition of the Sony campaign will also have many discounts on selected games and exclusive titles. Tomorrow will be the day that PlayStation State of Play will introduce new games for the next few months. Fans are really eager to see what the company will show at this new event. Players are expecting to see new gameplay for Marvel’s Wolverine, an exclusive title that will be released soon.
