As the DCU gears up to challenge the MCU, Marvel isn’t lagging far behind. In a recent move, the franchise has canonized six Netflix shows, including Daredevil, The Punisher, and the Defenders saga into the official MCU timeline, coinciding with the release of Marvel Studios’ Echo series on streaming platforms. With the Defenders now woven into the saga, fans desperately want Iron Fist’s potential appearance in Shang-Chi 2.

Six Netflix Marvel Shows That Are Now Part of Disney+ MCU
Marvel has often left both new and sometimes longtime fans confused for various reasons. The relationship between the Marvel Television-produced Netflix series and Marvel Studios’ movies has long puzzled audiences. With minimal crossovers between the original Marvel shows and the MCU’s films, there has been persistent uncertainty about how these TV properties align within the larger franchise’s canon. But not anymore.
A new update to the timeline shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher seamlessly integrated into the MCU lineup on Disney+. And this may change everything.
Notably, characters from Netflix’s Defenderverse, such as Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in She-Hulk and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye, have crossed over into MCU projects. The recent Echo trailer also featured glimpses from Netflix’s Daredevil TV show. Therefore, despite the studio’s ongoing efforts to intricately align within the universe, fans are filled with anticipation.

While plot specifics for Shang-Chi 2 remain undisclosed, the release date remains uncertain. Screen Culture released a fan-made trailer suggesting potential themes and storylines for the sequel that can incorporate Iron Fist as well.
Another popular way voted by the fans is the introduction of Ta Lo and the concept of interdimensional cities, also potentially opening the door to Iron Fist’s debut in the MCU.
Shang-Chi introduces Ta-Lo, an interdimensional village accessed via Earth’s magical portal, potentially setting the stage for the MCU to explore hidden magical cities like K’un Lun which fans already know is linked with Iron Fist. Shang-Chi 2 might just adapt Marvel’s Tournament of the Heavenly Cities, hinting at or introducing all Seven Heavenly Cities.
Though it is unclear which way Marvel will be going, it’s evident there are plenty, fans are eager to find out how all this takes shape.
