During an interview in 2009, the Jackie Brown director was asked which actress he would like to marry. Tarantino without any hesitation expressed that he would like to marry the 53-year-old actress, Tarantino said,
“I don’t know what she’d think about that, but it’s my life that’s at stake in this question.”
When the director was asked about his favorite leading ladies, Thurman was one of his choices and he also explained that Thurman belongs to a different species, the director said,
“People talk about beautiful actresses. Like Cameron Diaz, she’s a beautiful girl. But I went to high school with three girls who look like Cameron Diaz. Uma Thurman is a different species. She’s up there with Garbo and Dietrich in goddess territory.”
Tarantino was asked during an interview what he finds sexy in his leading ladies, he said, “If she’s talented and cool, that can be very, very sexy.” When Thurman parted ways with Arpad Busson there was a rumor that she was into Tarantino. As the director was already romantically interested in the actress they reportedly had a fling.

In 2014, when Thurman was single, Tarantino and the 53-year-old actress were reportedly more than friends. A Hollywood insider said as Thurman has always been Tarantino’s crush for a very long time, the news of them dating wasn’t a shock to many people. A close source said,
“They had a thing and got together again recently. She has indulged from time to time, and that’s how their relationship has always worked.”
When asked about his relationship status with Thurman, Tarantino offered a perplexing response to everyone who wanted to know what was going on between them, he said,
“I’m not saying that we haven’t, and I’m not saying that we have. We love each other, but we’re almost too close now to be a couple.”
Thurman never commented on this topic although it was a hot topic in the industry for a very long time. In 2014, Tarantino and Thurman were spotted posing together at the Cannes film festival, where they celebrated the 20th anniversary of their movie Pulp Fiction.
