The National Football League’s (NFL) touchdown celebrations appear to have evolved into a kind of art. Teams are often seen finding unique ways to celebrate their victories and taunt their rivals in an effort to draw attention and entertain the crowd. However, not all celebrations age as gracefully as fine wine. In a recent game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens decided to mock Taylor Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs with what appeared to be a cheeky celebration inspired by the hip-hop dance of Fast Life Yungstaz’s Swag Surfin.

Alas, little did they know that this daring celebration would age like milk, leaving them scratching their heads after they lost the match. In the first half of the AFC championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Baltimore Ravens scored points quickly. Naturally, they had to celebrate lavishly and make fun of their opponents after quarterback Lamar Jackson scored the team’s first passing touchdown of the game.

And this caused the Baltimore Ravens to capitalize on the chance to mock Travis Kelce’s girlfriend.

Ravens Players’ Message to Taylor Swift With Celebratory Touchdown Dance

On Sunday, January 28, following their first and only touchdown in the Chiefs vs. Ravens playoff game, the latter team seemed to utilize their victory dance to make a statement to the most well-known fan of the rival team.

Following wide receiver Zay Flowers’ touchdown in the first quarter, a number of Ravens players rushed together, linking arms and performing a dance that was inspired by the 2009 song Swag Surfin’ by the hip-hop group Fast Life Yungstaz. The dance involved dipping back and forth in a manner that looked like an ocean wave.

This season, the Chiefs as a whole have made the song and its corresponding dance their go-to hype music. However, Taylor Swift went viral earlier this month when she and Travis Kelce’s mother were seen on camera wildly swaying back and forth with the crowd (via Parade).

Some people think that the Ravens took advantage of the situation to publicly mock the singer after a well-known NFL meme account shared a side-by-side comparison of the two moments with the caption, “Ravens trolling Taylor Swift by swag surfing… this game is cinema.”

The team and its supporters were vociferous and confident in their belief that they would be the ones to go to the Super Bowl this year. Regretfully, the Ravens were never able to ascend to the peak, and on February 11th, the Chiefs will play in their second straight Super Bowl against the 49ers or the Lions (via CBS 42). The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

Following the outcome of the match, Swift went to the M&T Bank Stadium field to welcome Kelce, who was encircled by teammates and media. While the couple enjoyed the tender moment, his parents stood by.

The NFL player’s joy for his team’s significant victory was evident in Kelce’s speech. As he spoke to Chiefs supporters, the tight end cited the Beastie Boys’ line, “You have got to fight/ for your right/ to party”, which was repeated the previous year when they won the 2023 Super Bowl.
