The actor further claimed that he wasn’t the only one who was obsessed with that particular scene, as according to the actor, when he finished the scene, “the whole set was in tears” and that’s when he realized that he was going right, but when he got to know that the particular scene never made it to the final cut, he was heartbroken.

Though the actor couldn’t achieve the Oscar Award, he learned a great lesson that day, which further helped him to refrain from such incidents. When Joel Schumacher eradicated Jackson’s scene from the film, it gave a completely different angle to his character. In the film, the actor plays the role of Carl Lee, a man whose daughter is brutally assaulted by two white men, and in the rage of vengeance, Lee kills those men.

The original scene would have landed very vividly, which would have highlighted the condition of a father who is pushed to the edge by the horrifying assault on his daughter and murders just to protect his daughter.

But the scene, which would have come out very aesthetically, was hampered by the alteration made by Schumacher in the scene. The edited scene appears as if Lee is a murderer who “killed white people and connived to get away with it.”

Since then, the actor has sworn to the notion that he would just allow the directors to take just three takes of a scene so that in the future they could not mess up his scene.
