‘Really? This guy?’: Game of Thrones Fans Not Happy With Corlys Velaryon Spinoff Series, Demand HBO to Make ‘Henry Cavill as Aegon Targaryen’ Series Instead

Corlys Velaryon

“Really? This guy?” well that’s not us but the fandom saying as Corlys Velaryon’s spinoff series gets confirmed by George R. R. Martin. House of the Dragon stars Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon during the run of the series but he will have a spin-off confirmed by the creator of A Song of Ice and Fire.

In an unlikely change of plans, the fans want to know the story of Aegon the Conqueror and want the Man of Steel hero Henry Cavill to portray him.

Corlys Velaryon Gets A Spin-off During House of the Dragon

Steve Toussaint, the man known as Corlys Velaryon aka The Sea Snake on the sets of House of the Dragon, will be getting a spin-off. The news was seemingly confirmed by the true king of the seven kingdoms George R. R. Martin himself. The author stated that The Sea Snake spin-off is still in development.

The fans of the series, however, had not much of a kind reaction as many stated that the character is boring or banal. The fans even went as far as to request HBO to cast Henry Cavill as Aegon The Conqueror (Rider of Balerion) and have a spin-off on him rather than Steve Toussaint’s Corlys Velaryon.

As seen from the tweets, the audience isn’t much of a big fan of Corlys Velaryon. Although the character has found himself through troubles dark; Corlys Velaryon sailed to the darkest seas and became the richest man in all of Westeros. The spin-off would likely cover his story into power and his journey to YiTi and Asshai.
