Game development is far more complicated than one might think and for good reason. Rockstar Games always knew how to improve and took all the lessons they had learned and applied them to future projects while the players waited and saw what modern triple-A gaming would look like.

Rockstar Games is one of the leading gaming developers and always managed to raise the standard after each project. Game development forces the hands of the developers to make some tough choices like choosing what to keep and let go.

The gaming community was convinced that the developers used everything they applied in the unused section of Guarma in Red Dead Redemption 2 as a field test for future major projects.

The game developers could have added more missions and made the unused areas vital to the narrative of Chapter 5 but decided against it. Perhaps the developers feared the gaming community would lose interest due to its long and slow-paced nature.

It can be frustrating to discover that more locations could be explored if only the developers were given enough time to fully realize their vision. However, it may not be the way how the game developers view this situation since nothing was lost and more was gained on the contrary.

The Guarma chapter was brief and didn’t allow the players to explore all that much beyond the woodlands given the high tensions of the story. The developers could use all the unreleased content and update them to a much more advanced and stable condition of the game engine for future projects.

Rockstar Games is one step closer to reaching its goal of making it a realistic open-world sandbox filled with different kinds of activities and beautiful scenery. The video game industry is inching towards making a more lived-in world compared to what is in reality.

The developers took their sweet time crafting this ambitious project and there is nowhere else to go but up. The gaming community was blown away by what the developers achieved decades ago and the studio is continuing to grow throughout time.

These water physics and visuals will only look even better on the final product. Earlier versions of older titles were held back due to the hardware limitations at the time but the horsepower of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, Rockstar Games can make the flashiest game imaginable.
