The gaming community has been clamouring for a Red Dead Redemption 2 remastered edition since the game developers gave Grand Theft Auto 5 a next-generation treatment by bumping the game with a 60FPS mode. Studios’ default strategy has been to showcase the horsepower of current-generation systems by remastering older titles.

It is worth noting that the 2018 Western game was released near the end of the previous generation’s life cycle and does not necessarily need an upgrade. However, some players beg to differ and would appreciate the performance boost, and recent leaks suggest a remastered version could be coming soon.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Remastered Could Be Officially Revealed Sooner Rather Than Later

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most detailed open-world games ever made, and it pushed the hardware capabilities of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to the absolute limit. Sony and Microsoft were proud to take the gaming community to the next generation with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The developers immediately released an enhanced version of GTA 5, leading others to believe a native next-gen Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming.

It is worth noting that the game was released near the tail end of the previous generation, and the backward compatibility of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will allow players to replay this epic adventure. Rumor has it that Rockstar Games is working on multiple projects apart from the next major Grand Theft Auto sequel, and there is a slim chance these could be ports.

Not long ago, reports of an upcoming PC port of the original Red Dead Redemption surfaced on the PlayStation listing, and reports of a remastered version of Bully are being worked on. Perhaps these projects are much more likely than remastering a game that does not necessarily need a next-gen version, and these games could be officially revealed at this year’s Gamescom.

The gaming community was rocked after a teaser trailer was passed around on social media, and fans believe it was made by a talented fan, albeit with impressive editing and use of music, and not an official trailer made by the studio. Regardless, it would be nice to see this project receive the same treatment and to be provided with a definitive experience.

The gaming community has different opinions about remasters. Some games are fairly recent and do not need a boost, whereas others are decades old and notably dated, but studios refuse to invest in older games and prefer to work on something more timely.

The fans estimated the astronomically high budget for GTA 6. There is a strong likelihood that fans may not even be in the same ballpark regarding the budget estimation given the decade-long production and next-gen capabilities.

It would make sense if older projects such as Bully and the first RDR game on PC were revealed as the other projects being worked on alongside GTA 6. Perhaps a remaster was planned, but the studio shifted its focus to other projects that require less oversight.

Nevertheless, the gaming community loved all of these games. It would be most fortunate if the developers reworked these older games and gave them the best treatment possible.
