Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption series has been among the most popular video game series in the past two decades. 2010’s Red Dead Redemption was the second game in the series, serving as a successor to 2004’s Red Dead Revolver. The game was a massive hit but unfortunately, PC players felt left out as the game was only released for consoles.
More than a decade later, the game is seemingly finally coming to PC and the release might be around the corner as the game’s description on the PlayStation Store mistakenly announced that the PC version is now available. Although it has been fixed now, it has sparked a lot of discussions on social media.
Red Dead Redemption PC Is Almost Here
Recently, the description of Red Dead Redemption on the PlayStation Store was updated, and the accidental change raised a lot of eyebrows. As per Wario64 on X, at one point, the PS Store description claimed the following:
This was obviously an error as Red Dead Redemption is still not available on PC but this mistake might have confirmed that the PC release is right around the corner.
The game has been out for over a decade now and it’s still odd that the game is still not available on PC.
Red Dead Redemption was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May 2010 and for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in August 2023. It was praised for its exceptional visuals, music, performances, gameplay, and narrative.

Some more information about the Red Dead Redemption PC release was mentioned in the description like the PC-specific features such as support for increased resolutions and framerates, multiple displays, and other accessories, plus spatial surround sound.
Rockstar Games has disappointed PC fans on many occasions now, in fact, they did the same with Grand Theft Auto 6 as it has seemingly been confirmed that the game will not be released for PC initially.
Even the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC version was released roughly one year after the console release. We’ve seen what modders have been doing with Red Dead Redemption 2 so naturally, fans are very excited to see the new mods for Red Dead Redemption once it releases on PC.
Financially, the Red Dead Redemption PC release will certainly benefit Rockstar Games. Despite a non-PC release, the sequel was a commercial success, generating $725 million in revenue in just three days.
