John Krasinski’s debut as Reed Richards had taken the world by storm as he had been fan cast as the character for a very long time. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw the actor appear as Mister Fantastic and everyone was more than excited to see just how well the idea would pan out. The anticipation for the actor had been long overdue.
Unfortunately, the response had been far from kind. His acting was highly questioned and fans were regretting their choice profusely. Kevin Feige himself confirmed that the casting had been experimental so as to see how the audience would take it. Due to the conflicting reactions, the Fantastic Four movie could not confirm whether or not Krasinski would be reprising his role and rumors started to grow.
John Krasinski Gets Replaced By Adam Driver?
There have been numerous rumors about John Krasinski’s Reed Richards being replaced by none other than Adam Driver. The casting gossip about Fantastic Four has made the fans spiral because till now there is no confirmation about who would be taking up the lead roles. The various rumors about Invisible Woman, The Thing, and Mister Fantastic are all creating a chaotic environment for fans, leaving room only for speculation and not confirmation.
Such was also the case with John Krasinski and Adam Driver. Krasinski’s Reed Richards was killed off by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and so a sense of uncertainty reigned upon the fans about the actor’s return. Rumors of Driver taking up the role grew more and more and they have been quite positive as well. Compared to the response A Quiet Place actor got, Driver’s casting rumors are all a contrast to Krasinski’s. Furthermore, these rumors are so influential that even Elizabeth Olsen was shocked upon learning about them.
Elizabeth Olsen Understands Why Adam Driver Could Play Reed Richards
Elizabeth Olsen came to know of the possibility of Adam Driver taking up the role of Mister Fantastic after John Krasinski’s character was turned into ribbons. She was shocked at first about how it would even be possible but then it dawned on her about the possibilities that present themselves because of the multiverse being open.
“How many kids does he have?”
She then went on to ask about how many children Driver had because it is not uncommon to see actors and actresses take up superhero roles because of their children. She understood how he could play the character well and that because of the various possibilities, anyone can still play Reed Richards.
Fantastic Four will be available to watch in theatres from 14th February 2025.
