As the long-awaited release date of Alan Wake 2 slowly approaches, gamers are excited to get their hands on any Alan Wake gameplay that they possibly can. Thankfully, Fortnite has gamers covered, as in collaboration with Remedy Entertainment, there is some Alan Wake content to satiate their hunger for horror.
Recently added is a new island code that will allow players to jump into the story of Alan Wake. This will be known as Alan Wake: Flashback, and has been reimagined in Fortnite using the Unreal Editor, and has been a collaboration between Epic Games, Remedy Entertainment, Spiral House, and Zen Creative.

For those unfamiliar with the story of Alan Wake, this update is the perfect opportunity to jump into the intro of the game and explore the story of Alan Wake within Fortnite. For those looking to give this story a try, it can be found through Discover or by using the island code 3426-5561-3374 within Fortnite.
The story has been reimagined in Fortnite is of Alan Wake in search of his wife Alice in the Pacific Northwest Town of Bright Falls, where he discovers pages of a horror story that he has written but has no memory of writing.
This tasks players with adventuring into iconic locations from the Alan Wake game as they help to explore Bright Falls and solve the mysteries within. Be warned, all isn’t as it seems, and there are mysterious forces working against you. There will be jump scares hiding in the dark, waiting for their time to pounce.
Using a trailer on Twitter/X, we can see how the story will unfold within Alan Wake: Flashback as the story looks to be told from an outside perspective. This means that we will not be taking control of Alan Wake himself, but witnessing his story like a fly on the wall, so to speak.
What other Alan Wake goods will be Available in Fortnite?
Since we are now in the spooky season and Alan Wake: Flashback is coming to Fortnite, wouldn’t it be fun to play as Alan Wake himself? Good news, as the best-selling novelist Alan Wake will be available for purchase on October 26th as an outfit.
That’s not all, as along with this new outfit, there will also be other in-game cosmetics that will be brought into Fortnite within the “Waking Nightmares” set. This set will include Alan Wake‘s skin and Alan’s messenger bag as back bling.
As an addition for anyone who has purchased Alan Wake 2 through the Epic Games Store, there will also be a bonus surprise for those who log into Fortnite. Those who purchase Alan Wake 2 before October 27th, 2024, will also receive the “Waking Nightmare” set for free upon their next login to Fortnite through the same Epic account.
To qualify for this deal, the player will have to purchase Alan Wake 2 on the same account that they play Fortnite on. Once this has been confirmed, the player can still use these items on any other platform, and since there is an entire year to earn these rewards, it’s a rather reasonable deal.
