The producers also shared that the vehicles could do more than just take players from one point to another; they could deal damage to enemies and clear roadblocks for progression. Vehicles are now the best companions in Sand Land.

Representatives of Bandai Namco and producers of the game took the opportunity to share details of its latest game over at Gamescom. Players will have to rely more on their vehicles for not just exploration and traversal, but also combat and to remove or overcome obstacles. According to the developers, each vehicle will have unique abilities that could aid players during their playthrough and will have a major role in progression.

The game will feature multiple and diverse vehicles, each with special features. Vehicles can give damage to several enemies, not just a single one, which also makes it easier to defeat enemies and vehicles that are difficult to capture by Beelzebub.

The producer also mentioned that vehicles are an absolute necessity in traversing the desert world and can pave the way for the right path forward.

In addition to the action, vehicles are indispensable for exploring Sand Land. They allow us to go to places we cannot reach by destroying rocks that block the way or jumping over broken bridges.

It is worth noting that this project is among the few games that the great Akira Toriyama was working on right before his passing. The late artist’s work will heavily benefit the game and will be a treat for long-time fans to see it come to a different yet much more interactive format like gaming.

The developers will be able to integrate certain ideas that could work on this format that are barely untouched or noticed in the source material. It will be a much more refined experience compared to looking at the panels and reading the dialogue.

Akira Toriyama was well renowned for his contributions to the Japanese side of the entertainment industry, and his work is a reflection of his pure talent and skill. Being the father of the famous anime franchise Dragon Ball, Toriyama was able to produce other franchises like Dragon Quest, which will be getting a new game relatively soon.

Despite his passing, Toriyama has been immortalized because of his significant contributions to the industry, and his work will live on among other illustrators and artists who took inspiration from it. Bandai Namco believes that this franchise is too good and deserves to be adapted.

Dragon Ball, Dragon Quest, and Sand Land are a few of Toriyama’s works that shaped the century, and Bandai Namco will carry that legacy by focusing on details and concepts like traversal and storytelling to appeal to a newer audience that has yet to be introduced to this franchise.
