Recently, popular scooper Can We Get Some Toast reported that the majority of the film would be taking place in The Void, a space that was introduced in Loki. The teaser of the film indicated that the film would be a multiversal story with Deadpool going to different timelines. The scooper also mentioned how this direction was vastly different from the original script for the film, which reportedly took place during the original X-Men trilogy.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are all set to debut in the MCU with the upcoming Shawn Levy directorial Deadpool & Wolverine. Ever since the film was announced, many cameos have been rumored to have been a part of the film. Popular scooper Can We Get Some Toast recently revealed new information about the film.

The scooper mentioned that the majority of Deadpool & Wolverine would take place in The Void. The post mentioned that about 70-75% of the film would take place in The Void, with both Deadpool and Wolverine going on an adventure. The Void was first introduced in the Disney+ series Loki and was described as the end of time.

The Void is a point where the TVA sends its pruned parts of a branched timeline. The place is said to be at the end of time and hence, anything in the Void does not age. While it is not clear what adventures Deadpool and Wolverine will be up to in The Void, the appearance of the TVA in the film opens new possibilities, with fans even speculating how different the place looks from the Disney Plus series.

Deadpool 3’s Old Script Was Set To Take Place During The Original X-Men Trilogy

Deadpool & Wolverine is not only set to be the film that introduces the X-Men into the MCU, but also canonizes multiple iterations of different Marvel characters from even before the MCU. Rumors of Blade, X-23, and Gambit’s inclusion in the film in alternate timelines have been making the rounds (via Looper).

While the film has now been said to take place in The Void, an earlier version of the film was reportedly set during the original X-Men trilogy. According to Can We Get Some Toast, an older version of the script was set during the events of X-Men, X2, and X-Men: The Last Stand. The original trilogy featured characters such as Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm.

Fox Studios had retconned the events of X-Men: The Last Stand with the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past. Despite its commercial success, the film received mixed reviews and was considered to be lesser than the first two films. The first two X-Men films have largely been credited with changing the way superhero films were made in Hollywood.

While the rumor was never confirmed, the scooper also included the early 2000s suits of the X-Men, hinting at the presence of even Professor X and Magneto. Neither of the two characters is confirmed to appear in the film. Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor X was already introduced in the MCU as a variant in the film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
