Valorant was released four years ago only on PC. However, this highly popular 5v5 shooter has finally landed on consoles on June 14, 2024, as announced at the recently concluded Summer Game Fest.
Riot has always tried to make the game the same on both platforms. But that’s really not the case. Since its release, console fans have been facing issues over strange bugs and glitches, here and there.
Console Players Are Not Having a Great Time with Valorant

Recently, an Xbox player vented his frustration regarding Valorant‘s miserable condition on consoles. In a now-deleted Reddit post, the player stated that the game on consoles is basically “unusable.” Not only that, despite this grave situation, Riot hasn’t yet come up with any feasible solution. Despite being in the beta phase, the kind of state the game is in right now is quite unacceptable.
Another Xbox player has stated that after you load into your game on the title screen, it can take several minutes before taking you into the game. The problem doesn’t end here. You have to restart either the game or your console to load into the game.
This issue persists across all the game modes, like Competitive, Swiftplay, Spikerush, Deathmatch, and many more. He has also shared some images where we can see a huge visual glitch in which most of the textures of the in-game objects are not rendered, along with the agent selection screen as well. Everything in the game looks blurry.
There are several reports on Riot Games Support’s website regarding the Xbox loading screen issue. However, the developers don’t have a proper fix yet. All they could say was, “We are aware of an issue with getting into a match on Xbox. Thanks for your patience while we work on a fix.”
Is Valorant Different on Both Platforms?

Riot introduced the game on consoles to offer the same flavor as it on PCs. However, things are not going in the right direction. There are now several bugs that are disrupting the gameplay of the console players.
For instance, there’s a weird UI bug, for which Riot had to remove the all-important surrender and remake features from the console version of the game. This bug was triggered after the voting was done on those features, making all the keys unusable.

We are disabling the ability to surrender and remake on console due to a bug that may cause players to lose control during the game.
We'll keep you posted on when games can return to their usual state.

Even the main menu of the game sometimes disappeared. However, Riot has assured us that both features will be back in Patch 9.02.
Another major setback for console players is that right now they are missing out on one of the most popular and important game modes, Deathmatch. Riot previously announced that the Escalation game mode would be disabled on the PC version due to an issue.
We've fixed this- Escalation will no longer be disabled. However, Deathmatch will be unavailable on Console until a fix can be shipped in the next few days https://t.co/RzlyMRcFdf

However, several hours after this announcement, they left Escalation as it was and instead removed Deathmatch from the console version.
It’s a pretty hard time for the Valorant players on console. There’s no confirmed date as well as when the beta phase is going to end. Till then, it’s up to the developers to fix all the persistent issues on this particular platform.
