During an interview with Variety, Eric Kripke addressed the one scene that completely grossed out fans in the fourth season of The Boys. Supernatural fame Rob Benedict shocked fans with his oral s*x scene in the new season of the Prime Video series, which he performed on himself. However, Kripke revealed that the scene was created with the help of a prosthetic *ss and p*nis.

Kripke shared that since the scene featured Benedict performing oral s*x with his own *ss in the same shot, they employed a perfect prosthetic of his b*ttocks. Kripke added that Benedict had to film his scenes naked for seven days during the filming, which they deemed was a lot of time to hang around naked.

It was eventually decided that the actor would don a prosthetic p*nis as well. Kripke shared that the Threshold actor wasn’t entirely naked in the scene as he was wearing a thong during the filming of the scene. Kripke shared with Variety:

We had to make a perfect prosthetic of his *ss so he could eat his own ass in the same shot. Because it’s a seven-day shoot, that fight scene, and he’s every other person in that fight, that’s a lot of time to be naked. So we ended up building a prosthetic p*nis, for what it’s worth. So he’s not so much naked, as he is wearing a thong for seven days. But pretty close.

Kripke also went into detail about how he got the p*nis to swing properly. The showrunner used ball bearings at the end of the prosthetic to give it a realistic look instead of a rubbery look. He joked that these were some of the takeaways from his adult-rated show. Kripke shared:

We had these amazing meetings about how to get the p*nis to swing properly. I just want to cut to the chase: the answer is ball bearings. A couple of ball bearings in the end, so it’s weighted just enough, because otherwise it’ll feel too rubbery. So these are the things you learn on this show.

He further added that he was happy to work with Rob Benedict again, calling him a “treasure”. He shared that it was a blast to work with Benedict on The Boys.

Kripke revealed that he had warned Benedict when he reached out to him to audition for the part. Kripke had shared that he explained every single scene that Benedict had to perform in the series. After hearing about it from Kripke, the Lucifer actor thought the scenes were hilarious and was immediately up for it. Kripke shared with Variety:

When Rob reached out and said, ‘I think I might be auditioning for this part,’ I was like, ‘Hold on, we need to talk…’ I said, ‘Here are the things that this role is going to be doing, and you need to know exactly what you’re getting into, because we’re friends.’ So I explained every single scene, and he was just down to do it. He just thought it was hilarious — and it is.

Many fans of Supernatural may not be able to digest Benedict’s new role in The Boys, especially due to his role in the Jensen Ackles-led show. Benedict played God in the series and made several appearances over the years in the role.
