It was the year of 2015 when Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway starred in an iconic film called The Intern. With Nancy Meyers as the director and the writer of the film, the film was bound to be a successful one from the first day.
Hiring Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway in the lead roles was like giving Hans Zimmer a piano as their on-screen chemistry was quite extraordinary. Well, De Niro would go on to love the film so much that he regrets that Hollywood will not make movies like this anymore!
Robert De Niro Praises One Anne Hathaway Movie As Extraordinary!
Although the premise of the movie was quite simple, De Niro and Hathaway created something incredible with The Intern. The story followed De Niro who joined as an intern in a firm because he felt that the retirement life was too boring.
Joining the firm, De Niro’s character gets assigned to Hathaway who is a very skeptical boss and ignores him at first. Wanting nothing but the best for Hathaway, De Niro goes out of his way and helps his boss. The story turns into a professional friendship rather than a simple summer fling and that’s where the quote “beauty lies in simplicity” comes in.
In an interview with The Independent, De Niro and Hathaway sat down for a chat about the 2015 film. During their conversations, the Killers of the Flower Moon star talked about how he regrets that Hollywood will probably not make movies like this.
“For me it was back to normal in some ways. his is not the type of movie you see much of these days. ”She’s [Nancy Meyers] my generation. and I’m used to doing movies the way she does them and taking a long time to shoot. Times are changing.”
And with De Niro’s statements heard, his co-star Anne Hathaway is going to do exactly the opposite. A first look at Hathaway’s new film The Idea of You was released on the internet and it is… romantic and a little bit seductive. And yes… the film is partially inspired by Harry Styles’s life.
Anne Hathaway’s Upcoming Film Is A Sight To See!
Starring alongside Nicholas Galitzine and working alongside director Michael Showalter, Hathaway is going to star in the upcoming film titled The Idea of You. The story follows Hathaway as a single 40-year-old mother who falls in love with a pop star (inspired by Harry Styles).
Although reluctant at first, Hathaway decides to completely fall in love with the pop star (Nicholas Galitzine). Staring a secret whirlwind romance, all hell breaks loose when the relationship goes public. The story is a direct adaptation of the book of the same name by author Robin Lee who stated that she got the idea for the novel because she was late surfing YouTube videos. Well, the movie is a little bit seductive in nature but delves into the romanticism of fame and how not all stories get a happy ending.
Boasting an iconic story, The Idea of You is slated for a release date of 16th March 2024 at the South by Southwest and will be available to stream on Prime Video (via Amazon MGM Studios) from 2 May 2024.
