Robert de Niro, the Academy award winning actor, has been wowing audiences since the 1960s, with movies like Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, and The Godfather. He recently worked under Martin Scorsese’s direction once again for the Oscar-nominated movie Killers of the Flower Moon, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone.

But that is not the only source of his income, as De Niro is also a savvy restaurateur. He owns Tribeca Grill alongside famed restaurateur Drew Nieporent, which is a hot spot in NYC dining experience. Apart from that, De Niro also founded Nobu Hospitality, LLC, a restaurant chain, alongside Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper.

A 4-Year Long Wait Became Fruitful for Robert De Niro

In the year 1988, Robert De Niro first visited the restaurant Matsuhisa, which had become a hot spot in Los Angeles, opened by Nobu Matsuhisa. He became a regular there and, by 1989, had asked Matsuhisa if he was willing to open another restaurant in Tribeca, New York. Though, the restaurateur declined it then, when De Niro gave him the same proposal 4 years later, he agreed, and thus came Nobu Restaurants, LLC – a chain of hotel and restaurants, that have become highly successful.

The annual revenue collected by Nobu restaurants in 2022 was around $3.7 million. On average, the restaurants make $10,137 in a day, which is quite the feat. With such a high revenue collection, safe to say, De Niro could sit idle the whole time and still be living comfortably from his restaurants profit alone.
