“On set, he was always in character. He’s probably the most disciplined person I’ve ever met. When we’d drive home from set, he would get out halfway and run behind the car because he was always training! I’ve seen him as a father, and I’ve seen him as a friend. We still talk to this day. During an interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Cathy Moriarty shared that she was completely astonished by the level of performance Robert De Niro pulled off in the movie, Raging Bull. The movie for which De Niro went on to win an Academy Award, unfortunately, only one of the two Oscars that he will win during his decades-long career in the industry. Moriarty went on to claim that although she was quite young during the shoot of the movie, she could completely understand the depth of De Niro’s role in the movie.
Robert De Niro’s Exceptional Hollywood Career
Robert De Niro’s Hollywood career has been quite exceptional as he has multiple record-breaking performances on the big stage. During the early part of his life, he dropped out of high school to pursue acting as he was quite fascinated by cinema and roleplaying during his mid-teens. After performing minor roles in multiple scripts, he finally landed his big breakthrough in Greetings which took his career forward in the industry. Although he never had to look back on his path to success, he is always grateful for the opportunities he got during his early days in the industry.
