The mansion was originally designed by Nicolò Bini, son of Dante Bini, the founder of Binishells company.  Entitled ‘Clubhouse’ by Robert Downey Jr., this house was meant to be built in 2013, during the shootings of the Iron Man trilogy, but due to the complex construction of the house, requiring numerous artists, architects, decorators, etc., to keep balance and harmony by choosing the right elements and items to escape failure, the project took a while. Its bulbous structure was one of the main reasons it take almost a decade for the mansion to be assembled.

Nicolò Bini confessed that he did not want to put about his father’s work but innovate it in a manner to make it more efficient than it has ever been. Binishell houses are built by covering a nylon-coated neoprene air bladder in wet steel-reinforced concrete, then slowly inflating it. The mixture sears in almost an hour and produces a spindly-shelled, streamlined bungalow. The Avengers star, Robert Downey Jr., And his wife, Susan Downey wanted to create something that had not been done before, as claimed by Susan Downey herself. Bini also supported her statement in the most sentimental manner.

“Call it biomimicry or call it borrowing from nature, but the beauty is that it works.”
