Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law starred in Guy Ritchie’s two Sherlock Holmes films namely Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Both films were commercially successful and the chemistry between Downey Jr and Law was praised by critics and audiences. The unique action choreography was also a big standout in the two films.

On the Graham Norton show, Downey Jr. and Law shared a hilarious anecdote where Downey Jr stomped onto the hand of what looked like one of the many rubber prop bodies lying on the set body, but the one he stomped on was an actual person.

Downey Jr. hilariously points out how the incident would have ended up with him getting a lawsuit ( if it happened in America). He recalls by saying,

“It was right before Christmas break, I got scared. But the problem was, the guy goes, ‘I can always say I had the honor of my hand stomped by the great Sherlock Holmes’. In America, it will be like ‘Lawsuit!’. Now I was fine until I went back to where the monitors were. I looked at Jude and I couldn’t stop laughing for an hour.”

Downey Jr. and Law are seen hilariously laughing while narrating the particular anecdote. Downey Jr’s impressive sense of humor is evident here and his charm is what makes the whole story even more funnier. The two actors indeed have a great chemistry even off-screen like what audiences saw in the films.

The two Sherlock Holmes films starring Robert Downey Jr. were all commercially successful and there were plans of doing a third one. However, the project seems to be at a standstill with no significant progress. Early this year, Guy Ritchie who directed the two films talked about the possibility of a third film.

He said that the progress of the film depended on Downey Jr. and his ability to move forward with its production whenever he’s free of his prior commitments. Ritchie told Collider,

“Well, honestly, I left this up to Robert [Downey Jr.]. So Robert wanted to be in charge of this. The ball’s in his court, so he’s in charge of the script, he’s in charge of the whole thing. I’ve moonwalked out of that until there’s a time for me to get involved.”

It remains to be seen whether Downey Jr. can speed up the production process of this potential third installment. His wife Susan Downey has said on the Unwrapped podcast that the project is one of his top priorities so fans can expect the start of filming maybe sometime next year.
