The movie Tropic Thunder was released in 2008. A film-into-a-film, it focused on a band of actors trying to make a film based on the Vietnam War, but it became a bloodbath with them trying to escape the drug dealers they had run into. And the cherry on top was Tom Cruise’s character Les Grossman, an angry, vile, producer, who just cared about the ton of insurance money he could get when the actors would lose their lives.

Tropic Thunder had Tom Cruise decked in prosthetics and makeup with a bearded and bald look, and nobody could figure out that it was the Mission: Impossible star. One of the most iconic characters in Cruise’s long career, it only feels natural that he should return to the big screen once again with the whole cast for round 2 of the underrated comedy.

While there are reports of Cruise eager to make a sequel of the action comedy, Robert Downey Jr was recently asked whether he would like to be a part of the project. And he replied,

“Um, look. All’s I’ll say is this. Tom Cruise and I have not done a project yet together. And that’s kind of a ‘yes,’ and then we’ll figure out what the title is.”

Well, if Cruise does revamp the comedy, it would be great to have Robert Downey Jr., Ben Stiller, and Jack Black along with the unhinged Les Grossman on the big screen again.

While talking about sequels, one of the most anticipated is Robert Downey Jr reprising his role as Iron Man in hopefully what would be Iron Man 4. There has been no official announcement or even speculations regarding another installment of the blockbuster MCU franchise, but fans have been desperately wanting and waiting to have Downey star as the ‘metal man’ once again.

On the premiere of the Max series titled Downey’s Dream Cars, the Avengers star was asked whether he would want an Iron Man 4 or not. However, the star evaded the question and walked away.

The chances are bleak, and his return might put a stain on the legacy he created as Iron Man. Even though playing the character once again might be the fan’s ultimate wish, Downey Jr seems aware that bringing the character back might not do well for the legacy of the character.
