Rogue City is a story-driven first-person action title where players complete objectives by finding evidence and interrogating people to keep the peace in the city and maintain public order. Peter Waller, the original Robocop actor who appeared in RoboCop films, has reprised his role as the voice and face of the cop in the game.

The original story of the game takes place between the events of RoboCop 2 and 3 movies and gamers play as the cybercop to conduct an investigation and uncover the secrets behind a project called “Afterlife.” Players will get cybercop’s signature Auto 9 pistol among other 20 weapons, unique skills, and cyborg strength coupled with detective skills to protect the citizens of Old Detroit.

The game also brings back Robocop’s partner Anne Lewis, Sergeant Warren Reed, and his robot rival ED-209. The cybercop’s investigative skills have been improved with a built-in scanner and there are many abilities for players to unlock and equip as they progress further in the game.

RoboCop: Rogue City Received a Hilarious Live-Action Trailer

RoboCop: Rogue City also released a hilarious fan-made live-action trailer showing the light-hearted side of the cybercop. As much as Robocop is known for taking down his rivals, the trailer shows him stopping crimes in the goofiest ways possible. The cybercop stops a man to clean up the poo of his dog as he tried to walk by without cleaning up and he let kids know that littering is against the law.

Robocop also pulls up a drunk guy urinating in public and says his iconic dialogue, “Dead or Alive, you’re coming with me.” As brutal and violent as the franchise is, this trailer shows a light side of the cybercop to maintain order in the city and shows that nothing is above the law.

The game has received mostly positive reviews from critics and has been praised for staying true to its source. Rogue City‘s combat though feels old school, is still fun as players engage with the enemies using the iconic Auto 9. The missions in the game are very satisfying, however, the game lacks a unique experience even after having an abundance of weapons and enemies.

The game is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Rogue City was also supposed to get a Nintendo Switch version, however, it was quietly canceled by publisher Nacon without citing undisclosed reasons behind the decision.
