WWE is no new to long-term storytelling, and it seems the seeds for the next big rivalry have already been sown on Night One of WrestleMania 40. While initially it was supposed to be The Rock vs Roman Reigns, following the fans’ backlash, who were adamant about seeing Cody Rhodes finish his story, it was eventually scrapped.

With the Bloodline now coming on top on Night One, resulting in a Bloodline Rules match for the main event of Night Two, the American Nightmare might be in for a rough time tonight. However, following Reigns’ mistakes in the tag-team match against Rhodes and Seth Rollins, fans believe a betrayal from the Brahma Bull is likely.

Since the day Hollywood Rock shook hands with the Tribal Chief, many speculated that we’re in for a major betrayal at WrestleMania, and after Night One, it seems quite likely. While the duo succeeded in scoring a win over Rollins and Rhodes, the match didn’t go as clean as the Bloodline would’ve hoped for.

From Reigns asking the Final Boss to acknowledge him midway through the match to accidentally spearing his tag-team partner, it’s safe to say the Brahma Bull isn’t going to let that slide. Furthermore, when The Rock finally made the signature hand gesture to acknowledge the Tribal chief, he used a signal of L, most likely implying loser.

With the tensions within the Bloodline high, it’s not hard to see why many are convinced Cody Rhodes will finish his story, as a betrayal from Heel Rock is likely.

Former WWE Legend Speculates The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41

Although fans are enthralled for Night Two of the Showcase of the Immortals, it seems WWE has sown the seeds for the next WrestleMania with Night One’s main event.

Speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, former WWE legend Bubba Ray Dudley speculated that WWE might be planning for The Rock vs Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41.

He said:

“I think, I could be wrong here…but I think the placement of this Roman documentary last week, they’re going to turn Roman babyface. I think Rock is going to be the heel, and they’re going to Rock-Roman, obviously at [WrestleMania] 41.”

While it’s too early to predict, keeping in mind that WM 27 was used as a setup for the Brahma Bull vs John Cena at WM 28, it’s reasonable to see why WWE might be opting for a similar route for WM 41.

Night Two of WrestleMania 41 will start at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday.
