Although the wrestler Ronda Rousey has been out of the game for some time now, a recent report might suggest why that is so. It turns out that by the time she left WWE, she had been building bitterness towards its management, but more specifically towards Vince McMahon. Whereas Dana White, despite being her boss in the UFC, was the one she held in high regard. Here is what happened.
Ronda Rousey Slams Vince McMahon in Her New Book!
Ronda Rousey has had a diverse career, to say the least, from dominating the WWE ring to the octagon in the UFC, not to mention her aceivement as an Olympic judo medalist. Although her run in WWE was short, it was marvelous, as she won the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships among many other titles and accolades. But behind those exciting chapters lies one filled with joy, and the other, well, not so much.
Recent reports claim Vince McMahon was majorly responsible for this.
It’s no secret that McMahon is somewhat of a controversial figure in the WWE community. In Ronda Rousey’s new book, Our Fight, which is now available for preorder, she doesn’t hold back. Supposedly, she dives deep into her time in WWE and is saying things as it is. Talking about the book, Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports how much she “despised” Vince McMahon.
This is quite evident, as she even went ahead and referred to McMahon as Emperor Palpatine. As per Inside The Ropes, she wrote in her book.
“NXT was founded by and under the control of Triple H, real name Paul Levesque. In addition to being my in-ring WrestleMania nemesis, he is arguably one of the best professional wrestlers in history and one of the better people on the business side. He is married to Stephanie McMahon, who is the daughter of WWE’s Emperor Palpatine, Vince McMahon. Vince took over the company from his father in the early 1980s and spent the better part of forty years playing a real-world pro-wrestling version of Monopoly, buying up and absorbing smaller promotions until he basically owned them all.”
She reportedly further wrote,
“It’s hard sometimes to know where the evil, unethical, slimeball character of Vince McMahon played out for the cameras ends and the actual questionably ethical, many times sued, and multiple times accused of s-xual misconduct Vince McMahon begins. That blurred line between character and reality is a recurring theme within the WWE Universe.”
While she had no good words for McMahon, she had nothing but praise for Triple H and her former boss at UFC, Dana White. The release of her book in April will reveal what else is in store. Until then, these revelations are enough to take the WWE world by storm.
Is Ronda Rousey Making a UFC Comeback?
While her transition from UFC to WWE was celebrated and somewhat successful, her experiences behind the scenes, as stated above, beg the question, will she return to UFC? However, to delve into that, we need to discuss why she left in the first place.
Her new book sheds light on the factors that compelled her to leave the field, finally revealing her history of concussions and how she had to hide them to continue fighting. According to an MMAFighting report, she wrote in her book.
“My concussion history that I had to keep secret for years, so I would be able to continue to compete and perform,”
Rousey hid her pre-UFC concussions, fearing it could hinder her fighting career. This influenced her reluctance to face the fallout from her loss to Holm, prioritizing her UFC and WWE prospects.
Considering her health, it was crucial for her to step away for the sake of the long term. As she further stated,
“A really hard decision to understand, but one that my body really made for me-I feel like this is the only way to really get that across in the best, most complete way that it’s not just a tweet and a headline short.”
That being said, there have been a few reports recently suggesting she is considering a return to UFC. Only time will tell what Ronda Rousey’s next move will be.
