Her introduction to acting came at the age of 15 when she was discovered by photographer Larry Clark and filmmaker Harmony Korine on her front porch step.
Korine believed she was ideal for a role in his screenplay for the controversial 1995 film Kids. Dawson’s career continued to flourish with diverse roles in independent films and blockbusters like He Got Game, Men in Black II, and Rent.
Rosario Dawson Came Out A Few Years Ago
Rosario Dawson remains a beloved star in Hollywood for good reason. In an interview with Bustle, Dawson clarified that a 2018 Instagram post about Pride, where she expressed love for her “fellow LGBTQ+ homies,” was mistakenly interpreted as her coming out. However, she ended up coming out during the interview officially.
”People kept saying that I [came out] … I didn’t do that. I mean, it’s not inaccurate, but I never did come out come out. I mean, I guess I am now.”
Although she didn’t provide details about her identity, she mentioned that she has never had a relationship in that space, making it not feel like an authentic calling for her. Regardless, she is happy with her life right now and that is all that matters.
