Such was the intrusion that Reeves even cursed at one reporter after he exclaimed that the actor was being harsh to them. One of the rare footage of Reeves losing his patience in public, the actor’s fans in the comments exclaimed how he was right to speak the way he did.
When a Paparazzo Sued Keanu Reeves For His Injuries
While being constantly harassed and followed by the paparazzi is part and parcel of the celebrity life, getting sued for absurd things is also one of the many cons of celebrity life. Back in 2007, Keanu Reeves caught himself embroiled in a civil lawsuit when a paparazzo named Alison Silva sued the actor for causing him injuries.
As per Silva’s account, Reeves had struck him with his Porsche, leaving him with an injured wrist. The reporter then reportedly filed a civil lawsuit, claiming $711,974 in damages which included his medical expenses, lost wages, and other punitive damages.
Fortunately for the Matrix star, there was sufficient evidence that found the actor not guilty of any charges, and a panel of 12 jurors rejected the case, ruling in favor of Reeves (via The Hollywood Reporter). Not only does this instance show what celebrities have to go through on a day-to-day basis, but also is a stark reminder of the cruel world we live in.
Despite the now-forgotten lawsuit and the challenging side of being a public figure, Keanu Reeves’ ability to navigate through these demanding moments while upholding his reputation as a kind-hearted individual further solidifies his admirable character.
