Along with Primetime Emmy Award winner Rami Malek being part of the upcoming project set after the end of the Second World War, the star is also set to be working alongside Michael Shannon, who he had also worked with in their DCEU film Man of Steel created by filmmaker Zack Snyder.

After his recent appearance in the horror/drama film The Pope’s Exorcist, Academy Award-winning star Russell Crowe has been scouted out by veteran writer and producer James Vanderbilt for his upcoming post-war film Nuremberg. The film is set to feature him playing the role of a Nazi general in this upcoming historical epic.

Along with him is another set of talented stars to take center stage like Rami Malek and his Man of Steel co-star Michael Shannon.

In the latest report by Deadline, it was revealed that the upcoming project would be taking the Les Misérables star on a journey into post-war Germany, where he would be playing the role of Hermann Göring, who was the right-hand man of Adolf Hitler himself. At the same time, Malek is set to play the role of an American psychiatrist named Douglas Kelley.

Both Malek and Crowe will be joined by Shannon, who is set to play the role of Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson in the film. While a whole lot more is not known at the moment about the upcoming film, it’s being reported that Bluestone Entertainment, Walden Media, and Széchenyi Funds acquired the rights to El-Hai’s book along with the producer’s script, which makes them the production houses supporting this project financially.

What Is Nuremberg Going to Be About?

With the release of his upcoming historical/fantasy film Gladiator 2 set to release next year, Crowe’s main focus has now shifted to the making of Nuremberg as well.

The film is all set to adapt Jack El Hai’s book The Nazi and the Psychiatrist and is set to tell the tale of an American Psychiatrist Douglas Kelley, who was tasked with clinically assessing the Nazis after the end of the Second World War to stand their War Crime Trials in Nuremberg, Germany. Here, Kelly comes face to face with Hitler’s right-hand man Hermann Göring in an intense battle of wits.
