It is no secret that Ryan Gosling and Britney Spears knew each other long before their fame. As kids, Gosling along with Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake went to the infamous show The Mickey Mouse Club, something that was sort of a launchpad for many iconic celebrities. According to him, it’s only after getting in the show he realized just how talented the other kids were compared to him.

He specifically mentioned Spears and Aguilera noting just how awed he was at their talent. However, it seems their friendship didn’t only stem from conversations about their showmanship. He mentioned in an interview that he used to give the other kids there some sort of s*x education. As he joked that he feels somewhat responsible for her overtly s*xual nature as she grew older.

Ryan Gosling’s journey in The Mickey Mouse Club

Gosling mentioned in The Ellen DeGeneres Show, that his appearance in The Mickey Mouse Club was sort of a stroke of fate. According to him, he went for the audition because the other students in his class were going. In fact, he was surprised when he got selected. However, it was not until he saw Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera performing that he realized the talent they harbored. Although he was used to working with stars by then, according to him, he thought, “Ok, so they’re, like, freakishly talented,” during their performance.

The organizers used to ask all the kids to perform for the others as a sort of introductory tradition. So when it came to his performance, he joked, “I think I was just like, ‘I’m Canadian,’ and they were like, ‘Good.’” The Gray Man star also commented on their friendship saying that he cannot remember the last time they met which regrettably seems like a sign that it has been a long time.

Ryan Gosling joked about influencing Britney Spears’ s*xual nature

Talking about their time together in The Mickey Mouse Club in an interview with IMDb, Gosling joked that while the other kids brought immense talent to the show, he mostly worked as a bad influence on them. According to him, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, and Britney Spears along with some of their other co-stars used to come to him to feed their curiosity about s*x. Him being just as young he used to answer them in like by talking about things such as positions, and so on.

Along the same line, the Drive star quipped that because of this, he sometimes feels responsible for Britney Spears’ s*xual nature as she grew older. “I feel somewhat responsible for how sexual she is right now. When I see her with a snake around her neck, I think, ‘Did I do that?’” he joked.

Not taking it lightly, the other parents apparently used to go straight to Disney to complain about him corrupting the other children, he added amusingly. However, according to him, although the complaints didn’t quite work, his own lack of showmanship was the reason behind his limited time on the show.
