During his recent appearances at events, fans noticed that Ryan Gosling‘s mid-face region looked very different. In the first photo of the Blade Runner 2049 actor taken in 2011, the doctor explained that he had some very impressive masculine features. The doctor explained that his facial features were defined by well-structured cheekbones, square jawlines, and a wide chin. He also added that Gosling’s mid-face flatness was very characteristic of his appearance.

He noted that Gosling must have sought treatment for his face’s sunken-like appearance. Betteridge shared that the treatment could’ve included dermal fillers for some form of mid-face restoration. The doctor explained that he would’ve carried out the process by placing dermal fillers on four points in the mid-face region. He added that this could help the actor to restore the cheekbone structure and volume in the region.

The changes became visible in 2021 and the doctor guessed that it would be the time when Gosling started the filler treatment. Sharing a photo of the actor in 2021, Betteridge shared that Gosling’s face looked less sunken and much fuller. The doctor added that it was perfectly timed for the production of his film Barbie in 2022.

Dr. Jonny Betteridge shared a photo of Ryan Gosling in 2023, adding that it was the time when the fillers started to look unnatural. Betteridge shared that his face began to look overfilled. He shared two photos of the actor, one from his promotions for Blade Runner 2049 and the other one from Barbie promotions. The six-year difference in his face, especially his facial proportions and fullness, was clearly visible in the photo.

The doctor explained that his facial transformation was further exacerbated by dynamic movement of the face, especially when the actor smiles in photos. Betteridge concluded that Gosling’s filler treatment was a classic case of when someone had too much filler put in the mid-face area.

Some fans doubted that the Dead Man’s Bones singer’s facial transformation procedure came out of the pressure to look as perfect as Ken in Barbie. Gosling definitely managed to impress viewers with his role as Ken, both in the film as well as in the live performance at the Oscars.
