Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 is undoubtedly the most anticipated film of 2024. The film will see the return of the Merc with a Mouth with his classic frenemy Wolverine, with Hugh Jackman coming back to reprise the role. Various set photos have surfaced online since the film started production last year. Several fans have tried to deduce the plot of the film based on these leaks. These seem to have confirmed a groundbreaking plot point of Deadpool 3 that will serve as the lynchpin for Avengers: Secret Wars.

Deadpool 3 Will Lay the Groundwork for Avengers: Secret Wars
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 is soon approaching, and fans are incredibly excited about the potential of the film and how it will change the MCU. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are leading the much-anticipated threequel, which is expected to be a full-on multiversal adventure that will have a great impact on the MCU’s future.
Various set photos of the film have been leaked in recent months (via Screenrant) and based on these, BM Reviews on YouTube has asserted that the Void introduced in the Loki series will be the MCU’s version of Battleworld from the Secret Wars comic. In the storyline, various realities and universes of the Marvel lore are combined and co-exist in one common planet.
Through the Loki series, the Void at the end of time represents a wasteland where the TVA dumps elements and realities that go against the sacred timeline. This can explain how various Marvel characters throughout history appear in Deadpool 3, thus becoming an extensive portion in which the film takes place.
Several of the set leaks include the Fantasticar, Moon Knight’s Truck, and Red Skull’s car. There is also the presence of Minute Men from Loki, the 20th Century Fox logo along with rumors of various X-Men cameos adding to the craziness. Therefore, all these separate elements coming together under one reality would only mean that the Void is poised to be the main setting of Avengers: Secret Wars.
Ryan Reynolds Gives a Hilarious Heads-Up to the Oscars for Deadpool 3
Ryan Reynolds’ FX documentary series Welcome to Wrexham won big at the recently held 2023 Creative Arts Emmys where it won 5 awards including for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program. In his acceptance speech, Reynolds appeared as Deadpool and accepted the award with his sarcastic humor. (via Variety)
The actor (as Deadpool) thanked the Emmys for recognizing the efforts of his partner Rob McElhenney and the ‘other’ guy (Reynolds). Reynolds also made a hilarious heads-up to the Oscars that Deadpool 3 would be a major contender in next year’s Visual Effects category. He said,
First and foremost, Wrexham, we love you. Thank you for letting Rob and the other guy tell your story. Cymru am byth, bit**es! [translation: Wales forever, bi**hes] I’d also like to thank the Academy for this honor.
Lastly, the Oscars, you’re on notice motherfu**ers,” Reynolds added as Deadpool. Maybe we can get a token VFX nod next year. The amount of work on Hugh and Ryan’s face alone is at least worth a nod.”
Along with Reynolds and Jackman, Deadpool 3 will also see the return of Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Karan Soni, and Stefan Kapičić. The film will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
