Homelander might be one of the most menacing villains that have ever been put to screen. However, despite his level of villainy, he is not necessarily the sharpest tool in the box, enlisting Sister Sage to think of him (as much as he is threatened by it.)
While Homelander would go on to dismiss Sister Sage, the smartest person in The Boys universe, was able to make contingencies for the scenario, which culminated in Homelander’s victory in the Season finale. Sage told Homelander that she will be back for ‘Phase 2’, before leaving the building. However, a slew of fans over on Reddit are convinced that Homelander is going to be betrayed by Sister Sage in some manner.
Sister Sage’s ‘Ceaser’ comment has fans convinced that she is going to stab Homelander in the back
Certain Redditors are convinced that Homelander’s days of supremacy are numbered, given that Sister Sage wants to make the character ‘like Ceaser’. While Homelander is taken by the imagery of a dictatorial leader who is popular with the people, Sage could already be planning his downfall.
A slew of Redditors are convinced that Homlander’s downfall is going to come at the hands of his pride. The debate lies in whether he will be outwitted by Sister Sage, or simply outfought by Billy Butcher and The Boys.
It is also possible that Homelander’s paranoia will get to him, which can cause him to dispose of Sister Sage, only to realize he needed her for the final execution of the plan, hence giving The Boys and Butcher the edge they need to end Homelander.
Sister Sage might as well be looking to turn Ryan against Homelander
Given that Sage was leaning into the Ceaser allegory a little too hard, Sage may be trying to get the unstable Homelander to do the heavy lifting, just so he can swiftly be replaced with Ryan. The younger supe has proves that is is less unstable than his father, but still has the ruthlessness required to defend himself.
Not to mention, if Sister Sage wants to conduct her experiments in peace, she is going to require someone who is not as impulsive and unstable as Homelander. Ryan is much more susceptible to her influence and could be the ‘Ceaser’ that she wants to put on the throne while making sure that Homelander never bares the fruits of all the labor he has put in.
