Jackson’s Fury has been around MCU for quite some time now, at least over a decade since his debut in MCU in the 2008 movie Iron Man. He has been an integral part of the Universe ever since, mostly being the S.H.I.E.L.D. boss assembling the Avengers, and creating ploys to defend planet Earth from several invasions from space.

The association of Samuel L Jackson with Nick Fury seems as if he was born to play the role. Over the years, he has played the character popping up in several Marvel movies, but this is the first time the character is getting a standalone project. Of course, there would be some things about the character Jackson may or may not, like but it’s all part of it. Recently, the actor appeared on Good Morning America (GMA) to talk about his Marvel character, and the upcoming show.

After playing Nick Fury for 15 years, Jackson revealed the one thing he hates about the character. “I hate about him? I hate that he’s not in everything.”

He also loves the fact that he does not have a superpower, but “he has the power of persuasion.”

Further, the actor reflected upon the return of Nick Fury after he had gone missing for a while to fight his own battle, to give his character another push.

“After the blip that you know all the people who watch Marvel Thanos did that he kind of changed the world and changed a lot of things and Nick’s been missing. You find out in Spider-Man what is that far from home, uh, that Nick’s been, uh, not there and been replaced by his scroll friend. At the end of that series and you find out he’s been up on his spaceship and not on Earth so he’s come back now and that’s what Secret Invasions, you know, basically based on.”

Also when GMA asked if the character is “not ready” after watching a clip released by Marvel, the actor said that the reason for him being away was that he got “some issues” but now he came back, yet, not as “sharp” as he used to be.

Secret Invasion is full of exciting actors, especially since the show is bringing back Fury’s long-time ally, Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill. After showing the clip Jackson said, “I love watching Kobe though.” “I mean I mean Kobe is the best,” Jackson said.

“She’s been with me you know as long as I’ve been Nick Fury she’s, she’s kind of been around too so it’s great to have her there.”

But the actor was genuinely excited about Olivia Colman, as GMA mentioned that he has been a super fan of The Favourite actor. “I’m a super fan of everybody who was there, you know,” Jackson responded saying “Olivia was great.”

“I hadn’t watched Broadchurch before I did this but my wife watches all this stuff so I started to watch it but I’ve watched her and seen her and so many other things that when I walked in the room the first day we were going to work together we just kind of looked at each other and just started laughing oh like this is gonna be like the best day ever and it turned out turned out to be an amazing day”

The Pulp Fiction actor also praised Emilia Clarke’s MCU debut admitting that he has watched her epic series Game of Thrones.

“Emilia Clark I mean I watch Game of Thrones the whole series so to work with the, you know, Queen of the Mother of Dragons, come on, yeah that was great too.”

With these brilliant co-stars, Jackson is writing a new chapter in his long MCU presence and the series will certainly test the character and his endurance.
