James Cameron was reportedly drugged on Leonardo DiCaprio’s Titanic sets

The incident has been one of the most popular ones from the production of the film Titanic. As per the reports, on the final day of shooting for Titanic in Dartmouth, dozens of the film’s cast and crew were drugged with PCP-spiked chowder.

Cameron confirmed the story in an interview with Powder at the 25th anniversary of the film,

“This is a 100 percent true story. You haven’t lived until you’ve been high on PCP, which by the way, I do not recommend to anyone.”

Director Cameron managed to vomit the soup out of his system before the drug could affect him severely. One of the actors recalled how the director looked after the incident.

“I was just shocked at the way he looked. One eye was completely red, like the Terminator’s eye. A pupil, no iris, beet red. The other eye looked like he’d been sniffing glue since he was four.”

PCP is a mind-altering drug that can cause hallucinations and psychosis.

James Cameron was once the scariest man in Hollywood

As per reports, the cause of such an uneventful situation may have been the temper of the director. At the time, the director was considered the scariest man in Hollywood. It was evident on the sets of Titanic, where he was seen screaming and shouting at others.

Bill Paxton, who played a prominent role in the film and was a friend of Cameron, shared he wasn’t particularly surprised that someone was angry with the director. He said,

“There were a lot of disgruntled people on the set. Jim is not one of those guys who has the time to win hearts and minds.”
