Scarlett Johansson Could Have Played The Role Of Lois Lane In Superman Returns

According to reports, Johansson was in the running for the part of Superman’s love interest in 2006, Superman Returns. The Black Widow star was in consideration in the early stages of development, when the film was being helmed by director McG and written by J.J. Abrams. This was before the project eventually became the Bryan Singer-directed Superman Returns. The role went to Kate Bosworth who successfully depicted the character of Lois Lane. If Johansson had been cast as Lois Lane, it’s highly unlikely that she would have been able to take on the role of Black Widow in the MCU.
