Scarlett Johansson Reveals Her Non-Negotiable Dating Rules

In her interview with Julie Chen for CBS, Scarlett Johansson revealed her rules in dating in relation to her famed rom-com film, He’s Just Not That Into You. The actress shared:

If he really doesn’t call, I would say forget it. I think that’s the unwritten rule is that the guy should call the girl. It’s the unwritten rule.”

The actress also specified another important rule is to stop obsessing over every text message:

I don’t like neediness in any way. It’s nice to feel wanted, and it’s nice to be romanced and all of that, but I need to have my time to do things with my friends and my family, and so when somebody’s calling me too much, it gives me anxiety like, what’s wrong, what happened, who died?

Furthermore, Johansson said that being an actress gives her the chance to discuss things concerning her project, but still she wants to keep her life private:

I’m an actor, and it’s fun to come and talk about the movies that we’re promoting, but when it comes down to it, there are so many things that we have, our personal things, our relationships or family, and I’ve pulled those very sacred. I’m not willing to sacrifice my privacy just for a juicy scoop.”

Johansson seems quite firm with her general rules of love and won’t lower her standards when it comes to dating. After her divorce from actor Ryan Reynolds and businessman Romain Dauriac, the Marvel star is happily married to comedian Colin Jost since 2020.

She and her husband dated for two years before getting engaged in May 2019. They married the following year amid the pandemic in a small and intimate ceremony.
